Monique’s body is discovered at Meech and Terry’s car wash. Meech quickly figures out that it was Lamar, but Terry insists Meech concentrate on the business for now and not Lamar. The crew is also pressuring Meech to handle B-Mickie now that word has got around that he cooperated with the police. Lamar grieves the loss of Blackie and Monique as well as the end of his relationship with Zoey. After a binge on coke, he attacks Alvin once again. This time it appears Alvin has had enough and we later see him trick Lamar into smoking crack.
We quickly find out Lucille is completely over Charles. She refuses to even allow him to see her in an unbuttoned shirt. He continues to beg for forgiveness but Lucille is unwilling to give him a chance. Later that day, Charles has a brief chat with Terry and Meech. He wants to have a family dinner in hopes it will redeem his position in the family. Not sure who’s supposed to prepare this food because can Charles even cook chile? At the dinner, we see Lucille’s style has changed completely since she found out about the affair. She looks good! Lucille fires off at Charles at the dinner table making things very uncomfortable. At the end of dinner, Meech breaks down at the table over the death of Monique.
K-9 gets questioned by Bryant and Jin, they want to know who all the dealers are involved in his Detroit enterprise. K-9’s lady snitches on him to the police and he gives up a few local dealers plus his plug. However, he refuses to say anything about Meech and Terry.
Nikki participates in an exotic Hair Night which is pretty much a Hair Show. The entire family comes out for the event. Lucille and Charles give their condolences to B-Mickie over the loss of his mother. Terry brings Markisha to the event and tempers fly when Lucille comments on Markisha’s age. Ya’ll know Lawanda was at the function with a new hairstyle that looked very similar to Markisha’s. The two women have an ol’ nasty old school verbal exchange. Terry and Markisha decide it’s time to go but not before they run into Boom’s boy, Saint, who expresses that he is keeping an eye on Markisha.
Bryant’s son, Kevin, gets into another fight with the school bully at the basketball court. The bully destroys Kevin’s comic book in the process. Meech calls the police station and asks to meet with Bryant alone. At the meet up, Meech presents the witness from Jay-Mo’s murder who describes Bryant’s police car being at the scene. Meech tells Bryant to stay away from his organization and give up B-Mickie’s gun, otherwise he will make sure the witness reappears at the police station.
Bryant goes to retrieve the gun from the safe in his closet but the gun is missing. Jin enters his bedroom and asks if he heard the call about Kevin. Bryant and Jin rush to the park and discover that Kevin took B-Mickie’s gun and killed his bully. Crying to his father and insisting it was a mistake, Bryant comforts his son. Jin cuffs Kevin and he is arrested for the shooting. Bryant is asked to turn in his gun and badge for suppressing evidence. Jin makes a last ditch effort to get B-Mickie to confess to Jay-Mo’s murder but he refuses. Looks like Kevin may have to pay for additional crimes he did not commit.
Lucille presents divorce papers to Charles when he tries to suggest they go to therapy. Charles believes that his affair can grant the couple a second chance but Lucille feels the second chance is for the purpose of them being with other people.
Meech pays a final visit to Lamar. He decides not to kill Lamar. Instead, with the help of Alvin, he will make sure Lamar remains addicted to crack.
With Lamar finally out of the way, Meech decides it is time for BMF to spread to another city, Atlanta. He throws himself a huge going away block party. At the party, Meech and Terry present their father with a new guitar. Imagine being rewarded for tearing the family apart. Lucille is out in her new outfit and new hair — she won. When B-Mickie shows up for the party, Meech gives him his walking papers. He tells B-Mickie he is no longer part of BMF and that B-Mickie is dead to him.
Meech and Terry say their goodbyes to one another. Terry now assumes complete control of Detroit.
When Meech gets to Atlanta, he visits Goldie. While the two are discussing business, Big Mike comes in with a shotgun and wants pay back for Goldie setting him up. Goldie ultimately takes Mike out but must flee because he has mob ties. When she tries to get her sister to come with her, Sandra tells Goldie she is tired of fighting. Goldie turns off the oxygen machine her sister needed and she passes.
As for Meech, he has new enemies already in Atlanta. The guys who killed Ty Washington discover Meech is back in town and the situation with the mob may resurface.
Back in Detroit, Markisha and Terry are victims of a shooting at the hands of Saint. I guess Boom wanted revenge after all.
Takeaways:
Another good cliffhanger heading into season three.
Sadly, I like what the affair has done to Lucille. She is getting her identity back outside of being a wife and mom. As for Charles, he did not deserve that guitar.
I think the Atlanta component is what viewers have been waiting for so next season should be promising.
I hope we see more of Goldie. Monique did a great job in this role.
